If you are staying in Grindelwald, you are 45 minutes from the top. The Eiger Express leaves from the village's own terminal, so the shortest Switzerland Jungfraujoch tour starts right here. You can go with a guide from the terminal clock, or ride up on your own ticket.
Grindelwald Terminal is the bottom station of the Eiger Express. The gondola climbs to Eigergletscher at 2,320 metres in 15 minutes, and the Jungfrau Railway takes you from there to the top. Jungfrau Railways times the whole trip at 45 minutes each way. From Interlaken Ost, the same route takes about 1 hour 30 minutes.
The older way up from the village still runs. Trains leave Grindelwald station for Kleine Scheidegg, where you change onto the Jungfrau Railway. That takes 1 hour 26 minutes each way, and Jungfrau Railways suggests a 5 to 6 hour day for it. The two ways up are compared on the routes page.
The terminal is a station, a gondola base and a car park in one building. Trains from Interlaken Ost stop inside it, so you can walk from the platform to the Eiger Express without going outside. If you forgot a warm layer, the Top of Europe shop in the terminal sells weatherproof clothing before you go up.

Going up on your own is simple from here, and you can pick your own time. Allow 3.5 to 4.5 hours for the round trip with a good stay at the top.

A morning at the top leaves you the afternoon in the valley. From the same terminal, the gondola to Männlichen takes 19 minutes. From Eigergletscher on your way down, the Eiger Trail follows the foot of the north face down to Alpiglen in about 2 hours. In the village, the First gondola is the start for the Cliff Walk.
