Jungfraujoch Tickets and Prices

Every way up to the Jungfraujoch ends on the same railway, so every Jungfraujoch guided tours is built on the same ticket. Here is what that ticket costs in 2026, which passes cut it, and how the price compares with a day that adds a coach and a guide.

What a Jungfraujoch ticket buys you

You are buying a return train ride, not an entry ticket. Jungfrau Railways sells one route ticket from your start station to the top and back. Once you arrive at 3,454 metres, the summit's sights are part of the visit: the Sphinx terrace, the Ice Palace, Alpine Sensation and the Plateau. Only the Snow Fun Park rides cost extra.

Your ticket is valid on the date you chose, on any connection that day. The one fixed time is your seat on the last railway to the top, if you reserved one. That is why the price calculator on jungfrau.ch asks for your start, your date and your travel cards before it shows a fare.

What each Jungfraujoch fare costs in 2026

These are Jungfrau Railways' own prices for 2026. A full-fare return from Interlaken costs far more than the lowest fare, and you will see that gap on the tours too: the Grindelwald guide day adds the ticket on top, at up to CHF 261.20 per person at full fare.

The CHF 10 seat reservation, May to October

From 1 May to 31 October 2026, you need a seat reservation for the Jungfrau Railway, the last line to the top. It costs CHF 10 per person, and it gives you a set time slot up and down. It covers only that last railway, from Eigergletscher or Kleine Scheidegg; you cannot reserve the valley trains or the Eiger Express.

• The time printed on your ticket is your boarding time at Grindelwald Terminal or Kleine Scheidegg, not your departure from Interlaken.
• Leave Interlaken Ost, Wilderswil, Lauterbrunnen or Grindelwald at least 30 minutes earlier.
• Change the time online up to 45 minutes before departure; cancel it free until 21:59 the day before.
• Outside the mandatory months, reserve anyway on a busy day, or expect to wait for a later train.

Swiss Travel Pass, Half Fare Card and the Jungfrau Travel Pass

No pass makes the Jungfraujoch free except the Unlimited Jungfrau Summer Pass. The Swiss Travel Pass gets you to Grindelwald, Wengen and Mürren for free, and cuts the price of the mountain railways above them. If you hold the Flex version, you must validate a travel day to get either benefit. The Half Fare Card is valid on the whole network.

The Jungfrau Travel Pass gives you 3 to 8 days of unlimited travel in the region, from CHF 210 for adults, with children at CHF 30. It does not include the Jungfraujoch. You buy a connecting ticket from Eigergletscher instead, from CHF 63, or CHF 89 from May to October.

The Good Morning Ticket and its 13:17 return

If you can be on one of the first two trains, you save 20%. The Good Morning Ticket runs from 1 May to 31 October 2026, from CHF 190.40. It cannot be combined with the Half Fare Card, the Swiss Travel Pass or a GA, so compare it with your discounted fare first.

The first connection leaves Interlaken Ost at 07:04 and reaches the top at 08:41. The second leaves at 07:34 and arrives at 09:11. You must start down from the Jungfraujoch by 13:17 at the latest, which still gives you four hours up there. Below Eigergletscher or Kleine Scheidegg, you can travel back at any time.

Children, families and dogs

Children up to 5 always ride free. From 6 to 15 they pay CHF 20, or ride free if you buy them a Junior Card or Children's Travelpass, which cost CHF 30 per child at any SBB station. From May to October each child still needs the CHF 10 seat reservation.

On the Jungfrau Travel Pass or the Summer Pass, children pay a flat CHF 30 and the family cards do not apply. A dog costs CHF 30 from Eigergletscher to the top and back, sold only at a counter. Before you take small children up, read the altitude advice on the visitor guide.

Ticket or tour: the price gap

In Interlaken, a guided day costs about the same as the railway's own return ticket. The guided day from Interlaken is $313 per person with the trains, a reserved seat and a guide. The railway ticket bought through us is $327, with three hours at the top and no guide. The difference is who plans the changes, and who walks the summit with you.
